The ripple effect is how we make our renewal branch out.

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
MATTHEW 5:14-16
Revivalist Gypsy Smith had something to say about revival that we can all learn from. If you want real change in your life it’s not what happens on the outside but what happens on the inside.
Go home. Lock yourself in your room. Kneel down in the middle of the floor, and with a piece of chalk, draw a circle around yourself. There, on your knees, pray fervently and brokenly that God would start a revival within that chalk circle.
Gypsy Smith
Mommas, if we want revival and renewal in our homes, in our churches, in our families, in our parenting, in our marriages, it has to begin inside of each one of us. Deep inside our hearts.
Once we’re on fire, once we have ignited that spark within, then it branches out to others. It cannot help but spread light and hope. There is something contagious about hope, about joy, about light.
And God is the only one that can light that fire within but we have to participate by surrendering to Him.
A Candle May Be Small But Can Have Impact
It’s like using a candle to light another candle and then another. A candle may not seem very bright in a dark room on its own but many together can light up a whole room. In the same way we may not feel very bright in this dark world but as we allow the Lord to renew our hearts and minds we can ignite hope in others through our words, through our actions, by having a heart like Jesus.
Like a lighthouse guides a great ship in rocky waves to a safe harbor, we can help guide others to the greatest light of all, The Light Of The World. (John 8:12)
For a city set up on a hill cannot be hidden.
Let’s pray for renewal and rest and faith so we can let our lights shine.
Ponder How We Can Spread Light:
What are ways that I can start the revival even now in this busy season of mom life? How can I rest in Jesus so my light can be a beacon of hope for my family and all those around me?
Write down the ideas you come up with in your prayer journal and ask the Lord how you can take action.
Prayer for Renewal That Branches Out:
Father God,
I am weary but my hope is in You. Fill me and then help me shine my light as a city set on a hill. May I give Your words of life as I walk through this dark world. May others have their hope renewed when they are around me. Fill my heart with the brightest light of all the light of your Son Jesus. Let me be changed by beholding Your glory. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
Amen
