If you’re in a postpartum season right now, you’ve probably felt it…
Your body feels different.
Your energy feels stretched.
And the “bounce back” everyone talks about? It’s not happening the way you thought it would.

Maybe the weight isn’t coming off quickly.
Maybe your stomach is taking longer to shrink.
Maybe you’re juggling a baby, an older child or children, and the weight of everyday life—and it just feels like a lot.
First, take a deep breath, Momma:
You’re not behind.
You’re not failing.
And you do not need to rush this season.
Your body has done something incredible.
And instead of pressuring yourself to snap back…
What if you chose a different path?
A gentle, grace-filled glow up—one that supports your mental, physical, and spiritual health.
After all, maybe we’re not meant to carry the weight of motherhood alone.
More on that in this podcast episode… and your gentle real-life glow-up is below.

What Is a Christian Mom Glow Up?
The glow up movement has been going all around online, but as Christians, our real “glow up” comes from Christ.
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Psalm 90:17 KJV
This isn’t about pressure or striving but becoming new in Christ and stewarding what He has given us.
It’s about:
- Feeling refreshed
- Taking care of your body with intention
- Inviting God into your daily rhythms
- Creating a peaceful, life-giving home
It’s a glow up that starts from the inside out.
The 5 Pillars of a Grace-Filled Glow Up
Instead of overwhelming yourself with a long list of things to “fix,” focus on these five simple areas.
1. Abide (Start With Your Heart)
Before routines, before productivity, before anything else—start here.
Even a few minutes in The Holy Bible can shift your entire day.
I always remember hearing the story of Susanna Wesley, the mother of John Wesley, putting her apron over her head to spend time with God in the midst of busy motherhood days among all her children.
This doesn’t have to be long or perfect.
It can look like:
- Reading a Psalm while your baby rests
- Whispering a prayer in the kitchen
- Asking God to guide your heart for the day
Try these simple prayer prompts:
- Lord, help me serve my family with joy, not resentment.
- Create in me a clean heart.
- Help me choose peace over pressure today.
- Show me where I’m striving instead of abiding.
When your heart is aligned, everything else feels lighter.
2. Nourish (Fuel Your Body With Care)
Your body doesn’t need punishment—it needs support.
Especially in postpartum (and especially if you’re breastfeeding), focus on:
- Protein
- Fiber
- Healthy fats
- Regular meals
No extremes.
Just asking:
“Did I nourish my body today?”
3. Move (Gently, Not Intensely)
You don’t need long workouts to start feeling better.
Start small (if cleared by a medical professional).
These are the things I’m focusing on:
- 5–15 minutes of rebounding
- Pelvic floor exercises
- Walking or simply being active with your kids
Consistency matters more than intensity in this season.
4. Care (Show Up for Yourself, Too)
This is one of the most overlooked parts of postpartum—but it makes a huge difference.
Taking 10–15 minutes to:
- Get dressed
- Brush your hair
- Do simple skincare
- Put on something that makes you feel put together
This isn’t about vanity.
It’s about reminding yourself:
“I can’t pour from an empty cup.”
5. Tend (Your Home & Your Calling)
You don’t need a perfectly clean home.
But you do deserve a peaceful one.
Focus on:
- Simple daily resets (not deep cleaning)
- Creating gentle rhythms for your family
- Showing up in your calling—even in small ways
Little things done consistently create a home that feels calm instead of chaotic.
Help is here:

A Gentle Daily Reset (Simple & Doable)
If you’re overwhelmed, start here:
- Spend a few minutes with God
- Get dressed and ready
- Nourish your body
- Move a little
- Step outside
- Reset one small area of your home
That’s it.
That is enough.
Every Postpartum Journey Is Different
Some moms heal quickly.
Some take longer.
Some feel energized.
Some feel completely depleted.
Some have colicky babies who are not sleeping well. (Raising my hand!)
There is no “right” timeline.
And comparison will only steal your peace.
What Really Matters
This season isn’t about becoming smaller.
It’s about becoming:
- More present
- More peaceful
- More rooted in God
A glow up that comes from within will always last longer than anything external.
Momma, If You Needed This Today…
You’re allowed to:
- Go slow
- Start small
- Take care of yourself without guilt
You don’t have to do everything.
Just take one step today.
And let God meet you right there.
I believe in you!
