Are we remembering to cover our families with the armor of God?
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
EPHESIANS 6:10,11
How do we cover our families with the armor of God? My one-word answer: Prayer.
There are many wars and battles being fought around the world and have been for ages. But, the battle Ephesians speaks of is for our human hearts. And the enemy is fighting for the hearts of our children. But, Dear One, we have an advantage in this battle- we know how it ends. The Bible tells us that this battle will end and who will win.
“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:18
Read out of context we may understand that Petter is the rock that the church is built on. After all, the name Peter means rock or stone but if we go back and read the surrounding passages it is the rock of Jesus that is our foundation.
Matthew 16:16-18
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Still, Christ could see something in Peter just like He can see the best of us. Ephesians tells us to be strong in the power of His might. It is not by our own might and effort as Peter learned when he denied Jesus three times. It’s only through Jesus that we can withstand. Without Him, we can do nothing, but with Him, our victory is assured.
Evil cannot prevail against the church of God which is the children of God. And it cannot prevail against our families either when we are covered by the blood of Jesus and wearing the armor of God. Only if we are watchful, diligent, and disciplined. Staying in constant communication with our Commander-In-Chief Jesus. God wants His children to wear armor, not shackles. To be victors, not victims.
We have to cover ourselves and our families.
I saw a video about a Satan worshiper who was an elementary school teacher. She would sit and cast curses on her students. She said she could tell the children that were prayed for because there was like a dome where she couldn’t get through.
It’s sad and disturbing to think about friends but I do know prayer works and our God is big.
The belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of God’s Word.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
Pray and watch.

Lord Jesus,
I know that victory is ultimately Yours and I want to be on Your side. Without You, I can do nothing (John 15:5), but through You, I can do all things (Philippians 4:13). I give You my heart to You, let no enemy snatch it out of Your hands. Help me to pray and watch with diligence and discipline, putting on the armor of God daily and covering my family in prayer.
“I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.” Psalm 30:1
Thank You for being forever faithful.
“For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” Matthew 6:13
