Feel like you’ve made too many parenting mistakes momma? Or just life mistakes? There is good news today, He is greater!
“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”1 JOHN 4:4
Have you ever started a new year with so much hope but quickly became discouraged because you failed to stick to your plans and work on your dreams? This can easily happen not just at the start of a new year but over and over again weekly maybe even daily.
Mom guilt is a real thing and parenting mistakes happen. Life mistakes happen.
We have good intentions, we pray and work to be obedient, and we move our feet in faith, but then something happens to push us slightly, or maybe drastically off course. Over and over again.
The mistakes we make that we feel hurt our children hurt our mom hearts more than anything. God sees. He knows and He is greater.
No amount of goodness we do can save our children and no mistakes are too big for God to not be able save our children. That said we do need to do our best and keep growing and trying. But the best thing we can do ultimately is surrender all to our Heavenly Father. We can ask Him to forgive us for any mistakes we have made and start again fresh and new.
Remember to Whom you belong Momma.
If you have handed your life over to God by accepting Christ into your heart, the enemy has no authority to derail you. We can keep moving forward with hope knowing that His mercies are new every morning and great is His faithfulness. He forgives. He heals and He restores.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”Romans 10:9
If there is a need for repentance, present yourself humbly before God. But, then my fellow Child of God, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move forward through God’s grace.
Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Press toward the mark of your high calling as a Mom.
Don’t give the enemy the power. Do not hold your head down in shame.
Look up, Thou O Lord, are the lifter of mine head. Psalm 3:3 Look up behold your Savior.
For God says,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.2 Corinthians 12:9
Do you believe His Grace is sufficient? It’s not just a nice Bible verse or even just the theme here at GraceFilledMom it is Biblical truth. Meditate on it. Take it into your heart today and be forever changed as you rest in Him.
Ponder His Greatness
Am I humbly accepting God’s grace or giving the enemy far too much power?
Write your answer in your prayer journal. If it’s the latter make a commitment to remember that greater is the King of Kings. Write Psalm 121 as a reminder. (Listed below)
Prayer For His Grace
When I fall short Lord as a mom, as a partner, as a daughter, as a woman, I come to you because your grace is sufficient for all my shortcomings. I know that You will finish the good work that You have begun in me as promised in Philippians 1:6 as long as I keep looking up to You from whence comes my help. Thank you, Lord, for Your grace, for Your renewal, and for Your strength that covers my weakness.
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”PSALM 121
