Hey Mama! š
Can you feel that crispness in the air?Ā
Ohh I wish I could. Actually, where I live abroad we donātĀ have Fall/Autumn and itās my favorite season! We do still have a Fall like chill in the air for a time so I get to wear some Fall wardrobe favorites still. But I sure miss those falling leaves! Will you mail me some š

With the changing leaves comes the perfect excuse to refresh our wardrobes. Whether youāre chasing after little ones or squeezing in a āme time,ā warm beverage break at your favorite cafe Iāve got you covered with fall outfit ideas that are as practical as they are stylish. Letās dive into some cozy, chic looks that will make you feel cozy and chic all season long! After all we busy moms want to be comfy but still cute right?Ā
1. The Classic Denim & Knit Combo
Nothing screams fall like a chunky knit sweater paired with your favorite jeans. Whether youāre rocking skinnies, boyfriend jeans, or trendy mom jeans, this combo is an easy go-to. Try different colors of jeans like white jeans or a great black pair. Throw on some ankle boots and a wide-brimmed hat, and youāre ready to hit the pumpkin patch in style!
I just love oversized cozy sweaters! Iāve worn some of mine until theyāve had holes. Thatās a lot of love.Ā

2. Flannel for Days
Flannel shirts are basically the pumpkin spice of fall fashionātimeless and cozy! Whether you wear them buttoned up, tied around your waist, or layered over a basic tee, flannels are endlessly versatile. Pair with leggings for a laid-back vibe or dress it up with a leather jacket for that ācool momā look.
A classic red flannel shirt is still my favorite but Iām loving blue flannel too!Ā

3. Cozy Cardigans
Cardigans are your best friend when it comes to layering. Theyāre perfect for those mornings when itās chilly, but the afternoon sun warms things up. Go for a long cardigan over a simple tee and leggings, or pair a cropped cardigan with a high-waisted skirt for something a bit more feminine and flowy.

Iāve found some cardigans that will make you want to snuggle up with a hot cup of coffee. Check them out!
4. Sweater Dresses
Sweater dresses are the ultimate in effortless style. Just throw one on, add some tights or leggings, and your favorite boots, and youāre good to go! Many sweater dresses are too tight and clingy for my liking but you can find more oversized and looser ones. And if theyāre too short you can wear them with leggings or skinny jeans. Whether you opt for a turtleneck style or a classic crewneck, this is one fall look thatās both comfortable and chic.

5. Accessorize with Scarves and Hats
Sometimes, itās the accessories that make the outfit. A chunky scarf or a cute beanie can add a touch of style to even the simplest outfits. Plus, theyāre practical for keeping you warm as the temperature drops. Donāt forget a good puffer vest too!

6. Boots Galore
From ankle boots to knee-highs, boots are a fall wardrobe staple. They go with everything from jeans to dresses and can instantly elevate your look. Iām loving the trend of mixing textures, like pairing suede boots with a leather jacket. I still love to wear my classic flats in Fall weather too if itās not too chill.Ā

Make It A Capsule
As a more minimal mom, I like to focus on key pieces, outfit formulas that I love, and clothes that I can get a lot of wear from not just current trends. I think Iāve had my khaki trench coat for over 10 years! Iāve had my denim jacket for even longer and I think I paid $7 for it at a thrift store.
My trench came from a consignment store. Thrifts those looks, Momma! A good causal fall outfit starts with a favorite pair of jeans and an oversized sweater for me! To me, a stylish outfit is a classic outfit. Ā
Beth Grace Moore has a great example of mom-friendly capsule wardrobes:
Fall Capsule Wardrobe Essentials 2024 | The āCool Momā Edition
I donāt wear jewelry so I prefer scarves over earrings for a chic look. Donāt forget about silk scarves. They have a classic Parisian feel but can still keep your neck warm. And if youāre creating more neutral looks, scarves and accessories are the perfect way to add a variety of colors to your wardrobe and cheer up those colder months.Ā
Something not on our list that Beth mentioned that I do love is a great pair of wide-leg pants. My only caution is I have tripped over these chasing a little one so make sure theyāre not too long if you have littles underfoot.
Another thing to think about that Beth mentioned is having clothes that are breastfeeding-friendly. As a momma who is still breastfeeding myself, this is always a must. Wearing a tank top that you can pull down under your shirts with long sleeves is helpful. And Blazers are another stable that never seems to go out of style. I have a dark navy blazer that is almost black but looks a little softer than black and it goes with so many things from jeans and T-shirts to flowy dresses.Ā
If you happen to have a clothes rack like the one in the video, they are a great way to hang out your Fall wardrobe and see what pieces you have that you can use for the season. I keep mine in my home office to hold my capsule and I love it.Ā
