If you’re happy and you know it Praise Him!

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
JAMES 5:13
James 5:13 tells us to go to God when we are down but to also go to Him when we are up. I read a quote recently that said that we are never so whole, never so healed that we do not need God every single day.
I know as a busy momma I need God every second to give me strength, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to care for our family in the way He would have me to as a faithful servant and steward.
Often it is easier for us to go to God for help when we are feeling down and discouraged. But what about the happy days or even the just busy days?
Do we forget Him then?
It is easier to remember to pray and take our words and supplications before God when we are in trouble. But we need to remember from whence our help has come when we are happy and well. Let us not forget to praise our Holy God during both the ups and downs for He never forgets us.
We have so many opportunities throughout the day to stop and give an offering of praise to our creator. Things are all around us that we prayed for and received that we didn’t have before.
We can praise Him in the way we live, through our obedience, and the actions we take. We can praise Him by spending time with Him daily and reading His Word. We can praise Him through music and song. And, we can praise Him through our gratitude for everything we have.
One of my favorite verses and reminders is James 1:17.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17
Everything good thing we have, everything good we are comes from our faithful, never-changing God.
Let us praise him with our lives and words today.
Ponder and Praise His Goodness:
How can I glorify and praise God with my life today?
Where can I place reminders to praise when I get busy?
Prayer of Thanksgiving:
Heavenly Father,
I’m sorry for the times I neglect You and take advantage of Your goodness and forget to praise You for all that I have. Forgive me. Thank you for being so giving and so faithful even when I am not. Remind me to sing psalms and praise Your Name daily. I praise You for all that You are as a Good Good Father.
Thank you, Father. Amen.
